We've got Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, Diablo 4 as well as many others It's also worth casting our thoughts back to the top PC games from 2022. As Christmas is drawing to a close and fireworks are everywhere, we've taken the liberty of gathering some of the year's biggest news stories in the same place. Perhaps one of the best things to emerge from January was Blizzard's announcement that the creation of a brand-new game to take place in the "all brand new world" is in the works which adds yet another line to the Diablo WoW creator's bow metaphor. It wasn't just Blizzard that announced something brand spanking new, though, as Apex Legends creator Respawn Entertainment also revealed that they're working on a different triple-A shooter.
To top it all off the turn-based strategy game enthusiasts have been awed by the announcement of an all-new studio being run with the Doom and XCOM devs, that have come together to bring more strategy to the ever-expanding genre.
The most memorable event of February was of course, Elden Ring. It was hailed as one of the top FromSoftware games ever the RPG game quickly rose to the top of charts, requiring players from across the globe to recreate the item of the title. In addition to Elden Ring, Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG brought ARPG/MMO hybrid Lost Ark to the West after a successful debut in Korea. While server queues soared and players frequently lost the will to live, the game has blossomed after launch and now features numerous exciting zones and classes. Dying Light 2 also deserves some attention; after the fact, what player doesn't love taking on zombies?
And finally, Valve changed the landscape of gaming on the go and gaming, as we have discussed during our Steam Deck review. At first, a small number of people could have access to the handheld because of reservations system and lots of people who put an order, but the device quickly was a hit with boot screen mods or physical devices, and gamers racing to
